Lorne from DCNR has been spearheading the effort for Trail Solutions to come to Trex. He has been working to align the grants and funding to make this possible.
He recently ran into a roadblock concerning Trail Solutions. In the County's eyes, this is a non-bid situation that requires even more paperwork and time, a lot more. And as Lorne put it, he is so far down the road with TS that he cant turn back into a bidding situation.
The option of asking Trexler Trust to fund the Plan and at several Club member's suggestions, to fund Trail Solution's doing the construction work is being kicked around.
Lorne may be approaching the Trust asking for the whole enchilada. That would be sooo nice if the Trust said yes.
In the meantime, we will be finishing Broken Arrow with a push once school is back in and the heat turns down.
Once Broken Arrow is finished, some fixing of Firemans Trail will be our next focus. We will have a few extra miles on our loop, returning via the very scenic Trex Border Trail.
Finally, if Trail Solutions is still in the wings, we will get permission to machine build the Coaster, which will link the existing singletrack system to Broken Arrow/Firemans.
