Got a parking ticket night riding at Sals, little help please

Tonight I went night riding for the first time ever, I just did a quick Yellow/Orange/Red lap to test out my lights. Parked in the lot at the top of Dodson. I got back to my car around 8:30-45.

I then noticed I got a ticket, for parking there after hours. I called the non-emergency number and the officer who gave it to me called me back, and we had a friendly chat- I told him that per my understanding, I was allowed to ride at Sals until 10PM, and I said if I had parked in the wrong place then I would pay the ticket, but my assumption was it was much safer to park there than at the bottom of Constitution.

He was surprised at my claim that we were allowed to night ride there- I told him it came about close to a year ago, and told him about the waiver I had to fill out and everything. He said he would look into it and call me back, and again expressed his surprise that we were allowed to ride there. Again, he was nice enough about it, just puzzled.

He called me back about 30 minutes later. and said he looked at the waiver form on the township website, and noted (correctly) that it was just a general liability waiver and said nothing about how late we can ride there. He said he couldn't find any other info about legal night riding, and said that per the signs in the park which says no parking after dark, that I would have to pay the ticket unless I can provide proper documentation to the police office regarding night riding and parking there. He was very cool about it and said I can have a week to do that, and we basically just agreed that we both might have some misinformation or communication issues.

The only info I can find on here is this:

...but I need something more concrete than that to show as proof I think.

Soooooo... what should I do? It's only $25, but it's more that I don't want to get a ticket every time I go there, plus I'm glad he wasn't driving down constitution and spotted me there, because that likely would have scared the crap out of me.
