Fitness Central Bike Shop has been growing and growing and we need help. We just hired a full-time bike mechanic in February and are in need of another one. We have been working hard to build the bike business and cannot keep up with the work at our current staffing levels. Pay rate depends on experience and all of our employees do get medical benefits. Here are the details:
Summary – Fc Bicycle Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining all bicycles that enter our service department. The mechanic is also responsible for new bike assembly.
Position Details:
Thoroughly diagnose service bikes and accurately estimate repairs
Efficiently perform service on all bicycles including, but not limited to: Tune-ups, shift adjust, brake adjust, lubrication, wheel truing, bearing overhauls, hydraulic brake bleeds, safety checks, accessory install
Clearly communicate with customers and write accurate service quotes
Place customer experience above all else
Continue to stay up to date on new components and service techniques
Build new bicycles
Maintain stock bikes
Keep shop area clean
Assist on the sales floor and answering phone when needed
Job Qualifications:
1 year prior professional bicycle repair experience
Clean appearance
Excellent communication skills
Ability to diagnose bike repairs and communicate that to the customer
Love of cycling a plus
Ability to multi-task
Basic knowledge of computers
