It is time to plan our 5th Annual TrexxxFest Halloween XC Enduro and X-Treme Kids Race – Sunday, Oct. 22nd (Rain Date Sunday, Oct. 29th)
TrexxxFest Planning Meeting – Thursday, March 30th , 7pm @ Fitness Central in Schnecksville – BYOB
Last year’s event went off without a hitch but I feel this race has the potential to be bigger and better. I know the trails are in turmoil right now which is why I want to get things moving early to plan for a successful race. As mentioned in previous emails, I am hoping to spread responsibility to several chairpeople to manage different aspects of the race to bring a bigger and better event to the racers and to the sponsors. At the meeting we will discuss:
· Chairpeople for the following positions –
1. Sponsorship – to head up the effort to raise money and make sure the sponsors get as much exposure as we can give them and make sure they are recognized during and after the event.
2. Expo area – reaching out to local businesses and clubs to give people a “Festival” experience at TrexxxFest
3. Marketing/PR – the word needs to be spread on a larger scale
4. Kids Race / Kids Expo coordinator – organize kids race layout, timing and prize selection (Karen?)
5. Stage committee chairperson – last year was great, what can we do different this year to increase the awesomeness? – (Jim Kerchner)
6. Food Chairperson – STAVROS
· Possible stage layout
· Parking issues
· Rain date plans
· Expo area ideas
· Sponsorship
· Promotion
· Changes to race format
