--------------------
Cranksgiving is a food drive on two wheels. Part bike ride, part food drive, part scavenger hunt, it has been held annually in New York City since 1999. and we're bringing it to the Lehigh Valley.

Bring a bike, a bag, a lock, and about $20-$25 to buy food. All of the food collected at grocery stores will benefit the Second Harvest and The Synergy Project of Allentown, PA
Ride will be about 25 miles total.

There will be awards for the Faster Male & Female riders, Fastest tandem team, Best Costume and Largest Haul.

Come on out, support the cause and help us keep folks from being hungry over the holidays.

Also planning a killer after party so stay tuned for details.

---------------------

1) Run what cha brung.....any bike that you can pedal for at least 20 miles is the right choice. So road, cross, mountain, fixed (w/at least one brake), etc is fine.
2) Bring something you can carry groceries in while still being able to ride your bike. To give you an idea of size, the largest item will prob be a box of cereal so that gives you some basic dimensions.
3) This is a race or a ride depending on how you want to do it. You'll all be given a manifest that outlines several grocery stores and the items you can/should pick up from each. You'll also be given an envelope to keep receipts in. You'll have to turn this in at the end to verify that you purchased the minimum amount of stuff if you are competing in the "Race".
4) Go, buy groceries, and have fun!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q:I've never done a ride like this before? How does it work?
A: It's easy. You show up, grab a manifest, figure out the best route, and start riding when we say "GO!". You ride at your own pace. The idea is to have fun while helping others. Make sure you've got a bag and a lock, because you're going to need to lock up to run into grocery stores.

Q: How much does it cost to register?
A: It's free to register, but you'll need cash to buy food at the grocery stores. $20-$25 should suffice, but if you are feeling the holiday spirit, feel free to go for the largest haul award.
Can I register online?
No. Not this year, at least. Registration will only take place at the beginning of the event between 10-11am. The ride will kick off at 11am.
